“I like my job a lot ― I’m been a utility clerk, a bagger, at Dominick’s, working three days a week, four or five hours each shift. I’ve made friends at work: everyone is so nice to me – the customers are nice; the other employees are nice – I try to get along with everyone. The bus picks me up right out front of my apartment and takes me to work; at the end of the day, the bus picks me up at Dominick’s and brings me home.” ― Diane
The New Foundation Center knows that work can help people recover. Our supported employment team helps people gain the skills and disciplines they need to find and keep jobs. We help with resumes and job searching; and we coach people on good interview strategies. If a new pair of shoes or a hair cut might give a member a competitive edge, we’ll help make that happen.
We thank these business partners. In hiring people with mental illness, these companies support the health and welfare of our communities.
